OK, we accept that unidentifiable craft are buzzing around the skies of the world and we accept that people are witnessing amazing beings and even experiencing amazing voyages within their craft But if these things are real, if these beings realy exist why do the governments of the world still deny their presence?

Well firstly not all governments do. In 1994 the Belgian government released official radar film footage of craft chased by the Belgian Air Force at unbeliable speeds. They certainly do not deny these craft existed. In fact they go as far as to describe them as extraterestrial in origin. Furthermore the Brazilian government also confirms the existence of strange beings. This is understandable as an unbelievable amount of sightings, many filmed, have been occuring in Brazil and South America recently. But despite this the countries that do not have an obvious cover up policy are but small voices in the wilderness. Why then do the main governments of the world continue to deny existence?

There are six possible reasons why any developed country would pursue a cover up policy they are: (apologies to Stanton Friedman for butchering his original hypothesies)

By there very existance we have to assume that the originators of the craft are far superior to us in the implementation of certain technologies. On that basis therefore it makes good military sense to hijack and utilise these technologies (with or without alien agreement) to give your nation a superiority second to none.

For the same reasons outlined above what you do not want is to share this technology with other nations of the world as you then give your enemies and potential enemies the same access to the superior technology. Therefore deny existence at all levels and hope that when they fall out of the sky they do it in your backyard first.

The major governments of the world have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. They way things are irrespective of your political stance ensure that the people at the top stay at the top and the people at the bottom seldom get there. History is full of blatant attempts by all governments to ensure things stay this way (usual reasons, power, money, greed etc.). If however it became apparent that the Earth was a very small fish in an incredibly huge interstellar pond populated by beings that had long ago dispensed with such archaic forms of society how long do you think it would take for the masses at the bottom end of the scale to wise up and rebel? Sounds idealistic? That is just how some governments might think. Dont forget Macarthyism in the 1950s (and I wont mention the last sixteen years of conservativism in the UK).

Some of the conclusions discussed in point three could also apply to religion. Imagine if you woke one morning to find that everything you had ever been taught, believed in and worked for no longer existed. If you are like me you would probably relish the challenge however to the majority of the nations of the world the reverse would be true. In fact out and out anarchy would almost certainly lead to mass hysteria and bloodshed. Perhaps best keep this one to ourselves.

This one is a little bit obvious but bears being spelled out. The world that we live in no longer depends on who has the biggest army or who owns the most land, no you are only a big boy of the nineties if you worship the great god cash. This is the foundation of the fabulous New World Order and without it your not even Ackrington Stanley in the Great Global Premier Division. Having dispensed with all the old markers of society namely the empires and the armies how could the Status Quo be maintained if money was no longer necessary? Dont rush to close your building society account another reason perhaps why we will never know.

Here is an additional theory for what its worth. Scientists and astronomers now know that on the 4th May 2000 something rather spectacular is going to happen (review source).The four closest planets to Earth will be aligning to form a straight line between us and the sun. This only happens once every 40,000 years or so and by careful analysis of ancient manuscripts, myths and legends we can also be pretty certain that the last time it happened there was unbelievable geographical destruction (what do you mean homo sapiens sapiens hasnt been around that long you obviously dont keep abreast of the latest paleantological studies!). We can be reasonably sure of this because the combined gravitational pull of those planets could be strong enough to rip the earth from its present polar axis resulting in massive volcanic action and flooding. Yes my friends the end truly could be nigh.

Fear not. What if those friendly alien types have in fact been aware of this impending doom for some time and (like some intergalactic zoologists) have been taking various samples of flora and fauna from the planet (including humans) to ensure the continuation of earth life. It may sound propesterous now but so does the idea of flying saucers and little green men!

''A conjunction of five planets that can be expected to have profound gravitational effects will take place on 5 May in the year 2000 when Neptune, Uranus, Venus, Mercury and Mars will align with earth on the other side of the sun, setting up a sort of cosmic tug-of-war.
